In short: yes (but not all), and only with strict adherence to all medical standards and when the doctor has appropriate experience.
Modern lasers make it possible to:
Painlessly and precisely coagulate vascular formations without damaging surrounding tissues;
Reduce or completely remove vascular spots from the very first procedures;
Work even on children as young as 1 year old, provided there are clear indications and parental consent.
The key is that treatment must be performed:
Using certified equipment;
In a clinic with real experience working with children;
Under the supervision of a doctor with international laser certification.
Which vascular issues in children can be treated with lasers?
Port-wine stain (naevus flammeus)
Capillary hemangiomas
Venous malformations
Telangiectasias

Why is early treatment important?
Vascular lesions grow with the child and can become denser and darker;
In childhood, the skin is thinner and vessels are “closer to the surface,” making treatment more effective;
Fewer procedures are needed to achieve the desired result;
Potential psychological stress for both the child and parents during adolescence is reduced.
How is the treatment performed?
1. Consultation and diagnostics
During the in-person consultation:
The condition of the skin and vascular structure is assessed;
When necessary, the following may be used:
Digital dermatoscopy
UV-lamp
Infrared vessel visualization
Ultrasound of skin and subcutaneous vessels
Dr. Uskov creates a personalized treatment protocol based on the child’s age, location, and vessel structure.
In some cases, the procedure may be deferred or the patient referred to another facility.
2. The procedure
Duration: 3–5 minutes, depending on the area.
Anesthesia: usually not required. If needed, non-injection topical anesthesia or contact cooling is used.
Age: procedures can be performed even from 6 months old if medically indicated.
How many procedures does it take?
Often only one procedure is sufficient
In more severe cases, a course of 2–4 procedures with 4–8 week intervals may be required.
Effectiveness depends on:
Depth and density of vessels
Child’s age
Location
Skin phototype
Previous treatments
Safety of our patient is our highest priority
Only high-quality medical equipment is used
Dynamic skin cooling systems are applied during the procedure
Eye protection standards are followed
The procedure is performed by a physician experienced in pediatric vascular laser correction
Aftercare
Mild redness and swelling may occur for 1–2 days;
Temporary darkening of the treated vascular area may occur (up to 7–10 days);
Recommended care:
Avoid sun exposure and overheating
Use SPF 50+ sunscreen
Do not touch or rub the area
Detailed post-procedure instructions are provided during the in-person consultation.
Individual results
Every child is unique. Results depend on:
Vascular characteristics
Skin phototype
Age at treatment initiation
Adherence to post-care recommendations
