Laser removal of angiomas on the body

Why angiomas are an important cosmetic and medical issue

Angiomas are benign vascular lesions that appear as red or burgundy dots and nodules on the skin. They become more common with age, especially on the torso, chest, back, and abdomen.

Although angiomas themselves are not dangerous, their appearance can cause aesthetic discomfort and reduce self-confidence. In some cases they tend to grow or become traumatized, so medical monitoring and timely removal are advisable.

Historical background

Before lasers, angiomas were removed surgically or with electrocautery, often leaving scars and visible marks.

The advent of medical lasers was a real breakthrough. A laser can target the vessel precisely without damaging the surrounding skin. Today this method is considered the gold standard in dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

Modern laser techniques

In global practice, several types of lasers are used to remove angiomas, selected according to the depth and type of the vascular lesion:

532 nm (KTP laser): for superficial and small vessels

585–595 nm (PDL, pulsed dye laser): the gold standard for capillary angiomas with minimal scarring risk

1064 nm (Nd:YAG): for deeper vessels and dense lesions, suitable for darker phototypes

Using different wavelengths allows the physician to act selectively and gently, achieving a pronounced cosmetic effect even with multiple lesions.

At Dr Uskov Clinic:

• medical lasers of various wavelengths are used

• procedures are performed under the supervision of an internationally recognized expert

• equipment meets safety standards

• the main goal is to remove angiomas without scars, pain or complications.

How treatment works at the clinic

In-person consultation and diagnostics: examination, dermatoscopy, assessment under a Wood’s lamp or in the infrared range.

Protocol selection: wavelength, power, and operating mode are determined.

Procedure: in most cases one session is enough; for multiple angiomas, 2–3.

Post-procedure care: recommendations for recovery and skin protection.

Follow-up exam: if needed, a repeat procedure is scheduled.

In many cases, treatment can be performed immediately after the consultation.

What determines the outcome

  • number and size of angiomas

  • vessel depth

  • skin phototype

  • age and overall health

  • adherence to the doctor’s recommendations

Modern laser technologies allow for an excellent cosmetic result: the skin becomes even and the vascular elements disappear completely.

Safety and scientific basis

Clinical studies confirm that laser removal of angiomas is one of the safest methods. The laser acts selectively on the vessel without damaging the surrounding tissues. Modern devices allow the physician to control the depth and intensity of radiation, which makes the procedure highly predictable and gentle.

Laser removal of angiomas on the body is an effective, scientifically proven and aesthetically safe way to restore a healthy, even appearance to the skin. In most cases one procedure is sufficient, and recovery takes only a few days.
