Neck wrinkles and folds vary in depth and may occur alongside changes in skin firmness, texture or colour. Choosing a treatment requires assessment of the particular changes and the patient's expectations.

These images show an individual comparison. They do not replace examination and treatment records, and another person’s result may differ.

Laser treatment is one option for selected age-related changes in neck skin. It may reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but results and recovery depend on the method and individual skin response.

Why Neck Wrinkles Appear

Assessment considers the skin's structure and condition, dryness and texture changes, fold depth and tissue characteristics. The neck needs its own assessment rather than an automatic transfer of a facial treatment.

With age and under the influence of external factors the skin on the neck can acquire horizontal lines (sometimes called Venus rings), decreased skin density, dryness and a crepey texture, pigmentation and uneven skin tone

Additional contributing factors include:

  • Age-related skin changes.

  • Sun exposure.

  • Individual and inherited characteristics.

How to Reduce Neck Wrinkles: Choosing an Approach

Patients often ask what can be done about neck wrinkles and whether they can be removed without surgery.

Some changes may be reduced without surgery, but complete fold removal and the same result for every patient cannot be promised.

Other Options and Their Limitations

  • creams and home care

  • massage

  • isolated injection-based procedures

Home care, massage and injectable treatments have different aims. Their possibilities and limitations should be discussed separately; not all injectable approaches can be dismissed as ineffective, nor can any method be assumed suitable for every fold.

Laser Neck Rejuvenation

Laser treatment may be considered for neck wrinkles and skin texture. Small studies of particular methods describe improvement, but do not establish one universally best treatment.

Depending on the method, possible goals include reducing the appearance of some wrinkles, changing skin firmness and improving texture or particular colour changes.

Equally important is not only the technology but also the correct treatment protocol.

Treatment of the neck requires attention to possible tissue injury, recovery time and individual skin response. Scarring and skin colour changes are possible; describing an approach as gentle does not eliminate these risks.

Facial treatment settings cannot automatically be applied to the neck. Scarring has been reported after some ablative neck procedures; the doctor assesses the expected benefit, risks and necessary care.

Our Approach: Individual Treatment Selection

At Dr Uskov's clinic, neck treatment is selected individually. The consultation covers the goals, suitable options, expected benefit and risks.

Planning considers whether the method fits the skin and treatment goal. The doctor selects settings, considers combining methods when justified, and discusses limitations and care.

The plan should account for realistic expectations, possible recovery and the effect on usual activities. A particular result or freedom from downtime cannot be guaranteed.

Expected Results

We assess changes in the visibility of wrinkles, skin firmness, smoothness and texture, and the overall appearance of the neck.

It is important to understand:

  • Changes may develop gradually.

  • Skin response and persistence of the effect vary.

  • Repeat treatment and its timing are assessed individually.

Frequently Asked Questions about this procedure

Can “Venus rings” be completely removed?

The appearance of some folds may be reduced, but complete disappearance is not guaranteed. Expected improvement is discussed after examination.

How many sessions are needed?

Session count and intervals depend on the method, skin condition and response. There is no single course for every patient.

Is there downtime?

Recovery depends on the method and treatment extent. Redness, swelling, skin colour changes and scarring can occur; absence of downtime cannot be guaranteed.

Is it suitable for everyone?

The decision is made during a consultation after skin assessment.
