Laser treatment for facial redness

An effective and gentle solution for vascular disorders at Dr. Uskov’s clinic

Facial redness is not just a cosmetic feature, but a common symptom of various skin conditions: couperose, rosacea, telangiectasia, reactive vascular hyperemia, and post-inflammatory erythema. Regardless of the cause, pronounced redness can cause discomfort, self-consciousness, reduced self-esteem, and significantly affect quality of life.

At the clinic of international expert Dr. Uskov, we provide modern laser treatment for vascular redness of the skin, based on individualized protocols, scientific evidence, and the use of all available wavelengths applied in dermatological vascular therapy.

Relevance of the problem

According to the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, up to 40% of people with sensitive skin suffer from facial redness, as well as a significant number of patients with post-inflammatory and vascular skin changes. Most often these are women, but also men with dense skin and pronounced capillary networks.

Main causes:

  • Couperose (superficial dilated vessels)

  • Rosacea (including early stages)

  • Post-acne (red spots after inflammation)

  • Photodamage and consequences of UV exposure

  • Hormonal and medication-related factors

  • Genetic predisposition

  • Chronic stress, alcohol, sudden temperature changes

Some history

As far back as antiquity, healers described skin conditions with constant redness as the “face of a winemaker” or “Phoenician face” (facies rubra). But only with the emergence of laser medicine in the late 20th century did it become possible to achieve targeted, gentle, and long-lasting treatment of vascular redness—without surgery or prolonged courses of medication.

Why is laser treatment the gold-standard for facial redness?

Modern vascular lasers work precisely and selectively: the laser energy heats and coagulates only the enlarged blood vessels without damaging the surrounding tissue. This allows you to:

  • eliminate persistent redness;

  • remove visible capillaries;

  • even out skin tone;

  • reduce skin reactivity and sensitivity.

How is treatment carried out at Dr. Uskov’s clinic?

Before treatment, an in-person consultation is conducted, during which:

  • the doctor analyzes the clinical picture;

  • if necessary, the following are performed:

    • digital dermatoscopy,

    • examination with a UV lamp

    • infrared vessel visualization

    • 3D imaging and, if necessary, other tests

This allows for precise determination of vessel depth and diameter, as well as the creation of a personalized treatment protocol.

Which lasers do we use use?

Our clinic has all key wavelengths used worldwide for treating vascular issues:

  • IPL (515–640 nm) — ideal for diffuse redness and rosacea;

  • Nd:YAG (1064 nm) — penetrates deeply, suitable for thick skin and deep vessels;

  • KTP (532 nm) — excellent for fine superficial capillaries and spots;

  • PicoSure/Picosecond lasers — used in combination with pigmentary and textural changes;

  • Fractional non-ablative lasers — for scars or post-inflammatory consequences.

How many sessions are needed?

Most often, achieving results requires a course of 2–4 treatments with intervals of 3–8 weeks. However, even after the first session, patients often notice:

  • reduced redness,

  • narrowing of blood vessels,

  • more even facial tone.

The outcome depends on:

  • the number and diameter of capillaries,

  • age and skin thickness,

  • overall condition of the vasculature,

  • presence of concurrent conditions (rosacea, dermatitis, acne),

  • adherence to post-care recommendations.

Safety — Priority #1

Treatments are performed only on certified medical equipment that has undergone clinical testing. All procedures in the clinic are conducted by doctors with specialized laser training.

When following the protocol:

  • the risk of burns or hyperpigmentation is almost eliminated;

  • recovery time ranges from a few hours to 2–3 days;

  • with minor restrictions, you can return to normal life the next day.

Individual results and ongoing support

We do not make “universal promises.” The result:

  • depends on the patient’s skin characteristics,

  • requires a personalized care and prevention plan,

  • may require maintenance sessions every 6–12 months (for chronic vascular issues).

Real before-and-after photos on our website demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Who is this procedure suitable for?

  • Men and women of all ages

  • Patients with sensitive skin

  • Those who experience redness that cannot be covered with makeup

  • Patients whose vascular reactions disrupt their daily life

Facial redness is not just a cosmetic issue—it is a medical condition that can be effectively treated.
