A comprehensive approach to restoring aesthetics and confidence after lower eyelid surgery

Lower blepharoplasty is a popular aesthetic surgery aimed at correcting bags under the eyes, excess skin and age-related changes in the lower eyelid area. Despite the fact that the scar after such a surgery is usually barely noticeable and is located anatomically in the fold, in some cases it can become aesthetically significant and require laser correction.
The clinic of international expert Dr. Uskov provides professional treatment of scars in the periorbital area using modern laser equipment, individual protocols and safe technology approved by the medical community.
A relevant problem
Scars after lower blepharoplasty can form for a number of reasons:
tendency to hypertrophy or keloid formation,
improper healing (skin stretching, inflammation),
age-related skin characteristics (thin, dry, poorly regenerative),
individual characteristics of connective tissue metabolism.
Even if the scar is minor, it can:
create shadows and visual irregularities,
disrupt the symmetry of the lower eyelids,
cause a feeling of a "heavy look" or disproportion,
especially in women - reduce the effect of plastic surgery and cosmetics.
When is the best time to start treatment?
The optimal time is 6-12 weeks after the operation, when:
the primary healing process is complete,
there is no risk of deformation,
the connective tissue remodeling phase has begun (the scar has not yet “frozen” in a mature form).
It is also possible to work with mature scars (6+ months or more) - just a more intensive course and a combination of methods will be required for their correction.
What lasers are used?
Dr. Uskov's clinic has almost all the key wavelengths used in the world practice of treating scars in the periorbital zone:
Fractional non-ablative lasers (Er: Glass, Er: YAG) - for delicate skin restructuring;
Ablative fractional lasers (CO₂, Er: YAG) - for eliminating coarse and recessed scars;
Picosecond lasers - for hypopigmentation and texture disorders;
IPL and Nd: YAG lasers - for redness, vascular component or post-inflammatory shade.
What does the treatment process look like?
1. First consultation and diagnosis
The doctor evaluates the phase of the scar development process, skin type, location and anatomical features of the eyelid.
Additional tests that may be carried out:
digital dermatoscopy,
inspection with a UV-light,
infrared visualization,
Ultrasound of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (if there are doubts about the depth and structure).
2. Creating up a treatment protocol
The scar, the anatomy of the eyelid, the presence of a vascular or pigment component are taken into account;
Power, depth and wavelength of the laser and the number of sessions are selected.
3. Treatment session
Carried out on an outpatient basis;
Scleral protective screens are used (if necessary to protect the eyes);
Duration 10-30 minutes.
4. Post-treatment care
Specialized products are prescribed
Recommendations for photo protection, makeup and physical activity are given.

How many procedures will it take?
As a rule:
For fresh scars, 2–4 sessions are usually sufficient;
For mature, dense scars, up to 6–8 sessions may be required at intervals of 4–6 weeks.
The result appears gradually, as the skin in the periorbital area (around the eyes) recovers slowly and requires a delicate approach.
Safety comes first
Working in the lower eyelid area requires:
high precision,
carefully calibrated settings,
experience in laser dermatoplasty.
At Dr. Uskov's Clinic:
premium-class medical laser devices are used,
procedures are performed exclusively by physicians with specialized training,
multi-stage diagnostics and result monitoring are ensured.
Individual approach - the key to success
The result depends on:
the stage of the scarring process,
skin type and genetics,
the quality of the plastic surgery,
the timing of treatment initiation,
systemic conditions and overall health.
📸 Before-and-after photos at our clinic clearly show how the skin of the lower eyelid can change after just a few procedures.
