Rosacea in men is a common but often underestimated problem. Contrary to popular belief, rosacea is not limited to women. In men, the disease can be more severe, with a pronounced vascular network, persistent redness, and a tendency to hypertrophic changes in the skin, especially in the nasal area (rhinophyma).

Doctor Uskov's clinic offers modern, scientifically proven laser treatment for rosacea in men, which allows eliminating visible vascular manifestations, normalizing the skin condition and significantly improving appearance without injections and systemic drugs.

Why is rosacea not just a cosmetic problem?

Rosacea in men is accompanied by:

  • persistent erythema of the face (reddening of the cheeks, nose, forehead),

  • dilated capillaries and vascular network,

  • pronounced thickening of the skin, especially on the nose (in the later stages, this disease is called (rhinophyma),

  • unpleasant sensations - burning, itching, tightness of the skin,

  • emotional discomfort, refusal to take photos, communicate, play sports.

Even one correct laser correction procedure can significantly reduce the severity of redness, and a course of treatment can almost completely eliminate vascular symptoms and prevent the progression of the disease.

A relevant problem

Studies show that up to 30% of patients with rosacea are men, but they seek treatment significantly less often than women, more often at a later stage of the disease (Gold MH, 2014).

Historical fact: the term "rosacea" was first described in antiquity as "Phoenician face" (facies rubra), referring to the bright red face of men. And, by the way, even then doctors were looking for methods to reduce redness.

Why is laser the best treatment for rosacea in men?

Men have thicker skin, deeper capillaries, and more aggressive disease progression. Therefore, laser coagulation of blood vessels is the optimal method:

  • it acts locally and selectively, destroying only dilated vessels;

  • does not require systemic effects on the body;

  • allows you to avoid a long course of antibiotics or retinoids;

  • the result is noticeable after just 1 procedure.

How is rosacea treated in men at Dr. Uskov's clinic?

1. Diagnostics and consultation

During an in-person consultation, Dr. Uskov performs:

  • visual examination and assessment of the degree of rosacea;

  • digital dermatoscopy to analyze the vascular network;

  • if necessary, examination with an ultraviolet light and in infrared light;

  • additional examinations.

2. Selection of an individual protocol

The following is taken into account:

  • type and diameter of capillaries,

  • skin density (it is higher in men),

  • presence of rhinophyma or papulopustular component,

  • age,

  • lifestyle,

  • associated conditions.

What types of lasers do we use?

The clinic has almost all modern wavelengths used to treat vascular pathologies in men:

  • IPL (515-640 nm) — gently eliminates erythema and superficial vessels

  • Nd:YAG (1064 nm) — penetrates deeper and is suitable for dense male skin, vessels of the nose and cheeks

  • KTP (532 nm) — for superficial capillary network

  • Picosecond lasers — in combination with pigmentation and skin texture disorders

  • Fractional and non-ablative lasers — for phymatous rosacea (thickening of the skin of the nose)

How many procedures will be required?

To achieve a stable result, a course of 2-4 procedures is usually required. After the first procedure:

  • redness is noticeably reduced;

  • visible vessels narrow and disappear;

  • skin sensitivity and reactivity are reduced.

The course volume depends on:

  • age,

  • rosacea stage,

  • vessel diameter,

  • hormonal and metabolic status,

  • lifestyle and skin care.

Safety and individual approach

In Doctor Uskov's clinic:

  • only certified medical equipment is used,

  • procedures are performed by doctors with laser qualifications,

  • personal post-procedural control and support is provided,

  • if necessary, the characteristics of male skin and mentality are taken into account - without unnecessary "cosmetics", with a clear focus on the result.

Before and after photos presented on the site confirm the effectiveness of laser therapy for men of all ages.

Recommendations and limitations

After the procedure, it is important to:

  • avoid baths, saunas, sports for the time specified by the doctor,

  • avoid the sun and use sun protection,

  • follow the doctor's recommendations for care (creams, skin care cosmetics),

  • control possible provoking factors (alcohol, spicy food, stress, etc.).

It is the adherence to these recommendations that often affects the final result just as much as the procedure itself.

Rosacea is not “stress redness,” but a chronic condition that can be effectively treated.
