Stretch marks on breasts (striae distensae) are one of the most delicate and often underestimated aesthetic concerns. They can appear at a young age, during pregnancy, after breastfeeding, with hormonal changes, or due to weight fluctuations.

Although stretch marks are not a medical condition, they can significantly affect self-esteem, confidence, and quality of intimate life. This is especially true for women who associate the aesthetic appearance of their breasts with personal and social comfort.

At Dr. Uskov’s clinic, we use modern, medically certified, and safe laser methods for stretch mark removal, including individualized protocols, diagnostic imaging, and personalized therapy.

Why do stretch marks appear on breasts?

Stretch marks on the breasts result from the rupture of elastic and collagen fibers in the dermis due to excessive skin stretching. Common causes include:

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding — rapid breast enlargement and hormonal changes

  • Adolescence — growth spurts and body shape development

  • Rapid weight fluctuations — gain or loss of body mass

  • Hormonal imbalances — including thyroid disorders or use of hormonal medications

  • Genetic predisposition — tendency to weaker connective tissue

Stages of stretch mark development

  • Striae rubrae — fresh, pink or purple, with an active vascular phase. At this stage, treatment is most effective.

  • Striae albae — mature, whitish, with a destroyed vascular component. These require more sessions and often a combination of treatment approaches.

Why is early treatment important?

Even though stretch marks are in a “hidden area,” they may cause:

  • Avoidance of swimsuits and revealing clothing

  • Reduced self-confidence

  • Emotional discomfort in intimate situations

Mature stretch marks (striae albae) gradually become denser and deeper, respond less effectively to treatment, and require more intensive interventions.

How is treatment carried out at Dr. Uskov’s clinic?

Before treatment begins, a thorough in-person consultation is conducted, during which:

  • The doctor examines the stretch marks, assessing their stage and the anatomical features of the breast skin

  • If necessary, digital dermatoscopy, 3D imaging, ultrasound, and other diagnostics are performed

Based on these results, a personalized treatment plan is developed.

What lasers do we use?

The clinic is equipped with laser devices offering a wide range of wavelengths recommended for treating stretch marks:

  • Fractional non-ablative lasers (Er:Glass, Er:YAG) — gentle collagen stimulation without damaging the skin surface;

  • Ablative lasers (CO₂, Er:YAG) — for pronounced, deep stretch marks;

  • Picosecond lasers — for discoloration, thin skin, and gentler correction;

  • PDL and Nd:YAG — for stretch marks with a vascular component.

Treatment protocols

According to Dr. Uskov, effective stretch mark removal uses a combined approach that may include:

  • Laser therapy;

  • PRP;

  • Mesotherapy or biorevitalization;

  • RF microneedling;

  • Medication support for hormonal imbalances;

  • Vacuum-RF therapy;

  • Recommendations for special home care and photoprotection, etc.

How many sessions are needed?

  • Usually, a course of 2–6 procedures is required with intervals of 4–12 weeks;

  • The number depends on:

    • Type and stage of stretch marks;

    • Depth and width of skin damage;

    • Anatomy of the chest;

    • Age and skin condition;

    • Contributing factors (hormones, weight, lifestyle).

Individual results

Every skin type is unique, and results depend on many factors. On the clinic’s website, real before-and-after photos from our procedures demonstrate the effectiveness of treatment in various clinical situations.

A step toward restoring confidence

If stretch marks on your breasts cause discomfort, it’s not advisable to wait for them to “heal” on their own. Modern laser therapy allows for effective, safe, and painless improvement of the skin’s appearance—even in delicate areas like the chest. Early treatment helps achieve results faster using the least aggressive protocols.
