How does laser vein removal work?

Veins and blood vessels under the eyes can become visible due to thinning of the skin, age-related changes, or individual characteristics of the body. This problem is more common in people with thin skin and fair skin types. Although it is not a medical condition, visible veins under the eyes can be aesthetically displeasing.

Why do visible veins appear around eyes?

The formation of visible veins around the eyes can be attributed to several factors:

Laser-treatment: how does it work?

One of the most effective and gentle methods for eliminating vascular manifestations is transcutaneous laser coagulation. Laser energy selectively affects the hemoglobin in the blood vessel, causing it to heat up and then cause the blood vessel walls to stick together (photothermolysis), without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Post-procedure care

After the procedure the patient is given individual recommendations for post-procedure care and advice on what kind of activities to avoid for a few days. In general one should avoid:

• Physical activity (including sports and high intensity training)

• Saunas, tanning salons and hot baths

• Direct sunlight and use sunscreen when sun exposure can't be avoided

Following these recommendations helps to mitigate the risk of side effects and speeds up the recovery time while ensuring the best outcome.
